Janice Zindel, Shuttle Works Studio

I am a handweaver, working in my home studio in the beautiful WI Northwoods.  After years of weaving functional items, I am enjoying new directions in my work -- woven shibori and indigo dyeing.  My interests in Norwegian/Scandinavian weaving will be taken up again soon. 

In addition to weaving, I also enjoy other fiber arts including spinning, felting, and making wool socks on a 1908 Gearhart sock machine.


Artist Statement...

As a handweaver, my goal is to convey a sense of simplicity and elegance in my work. Using natural fibers, each warp is an opportunity to explore the elements of color, design, structure, texture, and technique, from simple to complex.
